Who makes us who we are?
Is it the people around us?
The music from afar?
Or New York City’s huss and fuss?
We search for ourselves every day,
Reinventing the “new” and fueling it’s fire.
Sometimes it’s what we do and say
who we see and who we admire.
I say we burn this down and repool
Make ourselves who we want to be
and not listen to society’s rule
channeling inner self is the key.
Things may stand high in your way
“I am me”…that’s all you got to say
You are you, don't let the world change you, the only way you can change is if you let yourself change. This does not have to be about a personality, or the changes from good to bad; but even if it's what kind of music you listen too. I know from just being myself that music has changed me whether it is from what kind of music I listen to you if it is the way I act. What changes you?
